For Labour & Birth
  • Hospital notes
  • Birth plan (if you've made one)
  • NHS Number 
  • Camera (to film or take pictures)
  • Snacks & Drinks (you will get meals but your birthing partner won't) 
  • Comfort items (Labour Massage Oil, birthing music, heating pad, etc.) 
  • Water spray or fan (to help keep cool)
  • TENS machine for pain relief (optional)
For Mum
  • Slippers, sliders or flip-flops 
  • Pyjamas & comfy clothing
  • Change of underwear 
  • Pillow from home 
  • Toiletries bag containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hair bands, brush, etc. 
  • Maternity pads or large sanitary towels 
  • Towel 
  • Thin Dressing gown 
  • Nursing bra & breast pads 
  • Lip balm (as they tend to become very dry during labour 
  • Perineal Healing Spritz (for that first toilet trip post birth) 
  • Face wash 
  • Phone charger 
  • Big, comfy knickers

 For Baby 

  • Nappies & wipes 
  • Cotton wool pads 
  • Blanket 
  • Muslins 
  • Sleepsuit (onesies) 
  • Hat
  • Socks or boots 
  • Car seat (essential if you are driving home)
  • Snowsuit (depending on the weather)

For Your Birthing Partner 

  • Comfortable clothing
  • Slippers 
  • Swim shorts (if you're having a water birth)
  • Snacks & drinks (they won't be provided with any food) 
  • Phone Charger 
  • Cash (for parking or snacks) 
  • Book, iPad or Kindle 
  • A wash bag
